Cotton Bush Productions was launched in 2016 by producer Kathy-Ann Thomas who's mission is to seek out and develop emerging talent and create unique projects with filmmakers who have distinct voices that may ultimately add to the ever-broadening landscape of cinema today.
It's hope for its first production, SNOW, is for it to become a catalyst for support in producing works of quality that draw on new creative voices and exciting stories that are waiting to be told.
Kathy-Ann Thomas is a seasoned film professional with over twenty years of industry experience working on feature films, television, and documentaries. She has strong media and communication skills and is among the few women of colour working in the Quebec film industry. Her film credits include Academy award-winning ARRIVAL (Denis Villeneuve), THE UNITED STATES VS. BILLIE HOLIDAY (Lee Daniels), and TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS (Steven Caple Jr.). She has also produced four short films that all succeeded in the festival market.
In 2016 Kathy-Ann founded Cotton Bush Productions to seek out and develop emerging underrepresented talent of all ages. She creates content with unique, character-driven plots and distinct voices. In 2017 Kathy-Ann produced and wrote the short film SNOW, which aired on CBC.
